Leak Detection

There are three different types of leak detection systems in the SeaHawk

product set; spot detectors, zone detection, and distance read detection. Each system has different benefits allowing for a customized solution based on your individual unique needs.

The Spot Detector senses water at a singles point making it an excellent choice for small rooms, air conditioning drip pans or dams, and around floor drains. This is the most economical way to detect water and other conductive fluids in confined areas.

The Zone detection systems are recommended for leak detection in open areas. The zone systems incorporate the Leak Detection Cable (SC) and/or spot detectors to create a continuous leak detection monitoring system. The SC is placed on the floor around all possible water leak sources and critical equipment. Each cable input monitors one zone of the SC.

RLE's patented Water Leak Detection Cable (SC) is designed to help eliminate false alarms that are commonly associated with other leak detection cable. The design is plenum rated, easy to install, lies flat after installation, and dries quickly. The cable comes with pre-installed mating connectors that simplify the installation and future expansion of the system. SC can be used with any RLE SeaHawk panel.

RLE developed single zone, multi zone, and distance read panels that easily integrate with existing alarm monitoring systems. These zone systems are typically used to detect leaks in small, open areas where SC is visible. Distance Read panels can pinpoint the location of the leak and are used in larger areas, typically under raised floors and above drop ceilings; with some being IP addressable and web-accessible with output communications including SNMP, BACnet, and Modbus.
